WPML application allows you to synchronize files for translation directly from your WordPress website to the Crowdin project and synchronize the translations back to your website.

> WPML is a WordPress plugin that allows running multilingual websites with a single WordPress install

## Setting up the WPML integration

To connect your Crowdin project and WPML, you need to create a token.

Open the Crowdin project you’re connecting > **Integrations** > **WPML** > click **New token** > enter the token name and click **Create**. The token is shown only once, so copy it and save it in a secure place, such as a password manager.

In WordPress, go to **WPML** > **Settings** > **Translators** > **Translation Services** > **Translation Management System** > click **Activate** next to Crowdin > click **Authenticate** > paste your token in the **API token** field > click **Submit** to authenticate the connection with Crowdin.

To reconnect WPML to Crowdin with a new token, open your Crowdin project > **Integrations** > **WPML** > click **Revoke** next to the old token > create a new token as described above. Then, in WordPress, go to **WPML** > **Settings** > **Translators** > **Translation Services** > click **Update credentials** or **Authenticate** > paste the new token in the **API token** field > click **Submit**.

To proceed with the file synchronization, ensure that the same languages are selected in the Crowdin project and the WPML plugin.

Once the translations are finished in Crowdin, they’re ready to be delivered to your WordPress website.

To choose when translations are sent back to WordPress, open your Crowdin project > **Integrations** > **WPML** > **Settings** > in **Send translations on**, select **File Fully Translated** or **File Fully Reviewed** > click **Save**. By default, translations are sent when a file is fully translated.

Each page from your website is uploaded to Crowdin as a separate file.

When existing pages are updated in WordPress, the WPML plugin uploads changes to Crowdin as new files.

To restore previously added translations, you can use auto-translation via TM.
