File Context Extractor is a small helper application designed to assist localization managers by automatically generating context information for the "context" property of Crowdin source files. This property provides essential details about the source content and translation guidelines.

Creating accurate context information manually can be challenging, so File Context simplifies this process by reading the content of the file and generating relevant context text. This feature enhances the translation process by supplying valuable information to both human translators and AI.

Machine translation (MT) providers, such as DeepL, can use this context to improve translation accuracy. By including comprehensive context, even if translating only a segment of the file, MT and AI translation providers can better understand and translate the content.

Note: This application requires you to have an OpenAI AI provider configured in your Crowdin account. Please find the application settings in the organization menu before using it. Once configured, you can find the app in the context menu of your project source files.
