DeepL Translator

Integrate one of the world's most powerful and accurate machine translation engines directly into your Crowdin localization projects. DeepL Translator provides natural, contextually precise translations that significantly speed up the localization of websites, mobile apps, and documentation while minimizing manual editing costs.

By default, machine translations are enabled for each project, but it is required to configure the translation engines before the project members will be able to use them.

How to configure DeepL in Crowdin

Depending on your account type (Crowdin or Crowdin Enterprise), follow these steps to connect the engine:

1. Navigate to Machine Translation settings:

   • In your organization workspace, go to Machine translation in the left side menu.
   • Or, if you are using a personal profile, go to the MT section in the left side menu.

2. Add or select DeepL: Click to add a new engine or select DeepL Translator from the list of available providers.

3. Enter your API key: Paste your personal DeepL API key obtained from your DeepL Pro developer account into the designated field.

4. Configure additional settings:

• Select your preferred Tone (Default, Formal, or Informal).
• Choose the Model type (e.g., Latency optimized for faster delivery).
• Optionally, enable Use context to send additional string or file context to the translation engine for better results.

5. Save your changes: Click Create to activate the integration.
