QA checks for captions

To further improve the quality of your subtitle translations, consider using the following QA checks:

• Line Count Check: Ensures that your translations maintain a controlled number of lines.

• Maximum Reading Speed (WPM) Check: Checks the words per minute in your translations to ensure captions are readable.

• Characters Per Second (CPS) Check: Maintains a controlled number of characters per second to improve the readability of subtitles.

These QA checks are particularly useful for integration as CaptionHub controls these limits to ensure your subtitles meet the required standards for line count, WPM and CPS.

Previewing video in the Editor

Consider using the Video Preview application to embed the video that's being translated directly into the editor to improve the translator's experience and the expected quality of translations.

Setting up the CaptionHub connector

After installing the application, you will find it in your project Integrations section.

Follow the instructions on the screen to connect your CaptionHub account.

Manual synchronization

To import content for translation from CaptionHub, follow these steps:

1. Open the CaptionHub integration.
2. In the CaptionHub section (right panel), select the files that should be translated.
3. Click Sync.

To export translations to CaptionHub, follow these steps:

1. Open the CaptionHub integration.
2. In the left section, select the files that will be synced to CaptionHub.
3. Click Sync to CaptionHub.

Auto content synchronization

To automatically import content for translation from CaptionHub choose files and click Scheduled sync in the right panel in the CaptionHub integration. The file you chose will be pushed once at a scheduled time (by default, it is done once a day). The same button is used to export translated files from Crowdin to CaptionHub (in the left panel). You may disable this by clicking Disable Sync.
