Google Shared Drives localization with Crowdin

Shared drives are special folders in Google Drive that you can use to store, search, and access files with a team. Shared drive files belong to the team instead of an individual. Even if members leave, the files stay in the shared drive so your team can keep sharing information and work anywhere, from any device.

Setting up the Google Shared Drives connector

After installing the application, you will find it in your project Integrations section.

Follow the instructions on the screen to connect your Google Shared Drives account.

Manual synchronization

To import content for translation from Google Shared Drives, follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Shared Drives integration.
2. In the Google Shared Drives section (right panel), select the files that should be translated.
3. Click Sync.

To export translations to Google Shared Drives, follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Shared Drives integration.
2. In the left section, select the files that will be synced to Google Shared Drives.
3. Click Sync to Google Shared Drives.

Auto content synchronization

To automatically import content for translation from Google Shared Drives choose files and click Scheduled sync in the right panel in the Google Shared Drives integration. The file you chose will be pushed once at a scheduled time (by default, it is done once a day). The same button is used to export translated files from Crowdin to Google Shared Drives (in the left panel). You may disable this by clicking Disable Sync.

The free trial is 14 or 30 days depending on the subscription plan.

Privacy and Data Processing

The Google Shared Drives app uses Google OAuth to securely log in to your Google account and access the content you select. The application itself does not store, retain, or cache any of your files - it simply passes them to Crowdin for processing. The app uses the Google Workspace API for file synchronisation purposes, and does not use your data to develop, improve, or train AI or machine learning models. Your data is encrypted in transit, and Crowdin handles it in accordance with its privacy and security policies.
